of subjects and academic programs. It has developed 2 institutes (genetics and bio- engineering, ecology), 4 key
disciplines, which include 1 municipal-level key discipline (botany), 3 university-level key disciplines (genetics, cytobiology
and microbiology), 1”211”key disciplines (genetics and bio-engineering), two academic programs which
are authorized to confer doctor's degree (botany, genetics), 1 working station for postdoctoral scientific researches,
7 academic programs, which are authorized to confer master's degree ( botany, genetics, cytobiology, biochemistry
and molecular biology, ecology, microbiology, and course , teaching theory,zoology,physiology,developmental biolo
gy,hydrobiology,biophysics,neurobiology).Each year, nearly one hundred and fifty students are enrolled for master's
and doctor's degrees.
So far the college has a 1 Beijing Innovative Team,2 Excellent Innovation Talents of Beijing,3 municipal young
leaders in their chosen fields of learning, 2 municipal new stars of science and technology, 3 who have gained
subsidization from the Ministry of Education that are initiated for key teachers, 2 leaders in their chosen fields
of learning at the university level and in name of cross-century youth. It has also presided projects at different
levels, including 2 funds for the National distinguished youth foundation, 1 key project of National Natural Science
Foundation of China, more than 10 items of National Natural Science Foundation of China, as well as the
special item of transgene project, 863 and 973 (sub items) sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology,
and many key items of Beijing Natural Science Foundation.
