There are 4 departments and two centers in the College of Life Sciences. They are: biology department, cell and genetics department, physiology, biochemistry and molecular biology department, microbiology department, administration center for fundamental experiments of Beijing city and biological information center. There are three majors having full-time undergraduate course under the College of Life Sciences: bioscience (teacher training), bioscience (non teacher training) and biotechnology.Every year, 120 students are recauited for the three majors. Then the students choose their own majors independently at the end of the fourth semester.

In Feb. 2001, the College launched new academic programs with Beijing Agriculture and Forestry Academy to cultivate and train graduate students jointly.
Since 2002,we have collaborated with CAS to train undergraduates,and established 12 bases for interships.
In July 2002, the College established " the foundation for production, learning and research and talents-training of life science " under the permission of the Beijing Municipal Commission of Education.
In July 2003, the College built a wetland environmental education foundation - Beijing Wetland School with Yangzhen No. 1 Middle School and Nin Lanshang No. 1 Middle School.
From 2003, the College has begun to cultivate and train raduatestudents jointly with two American universities, Duke University and Oregan University.
Since 2005, we have established an exchange program with Tubinggen University in Germany. Each year, three to five undergraduate students will spend a year in the other university. After many years of joint education running and foundation construction, our College has developed into a college with vigor and energy.
